We have eaten here many times & never had anything negative to say. My reason for 4 stars is the hours. Beware they close at 7:00. This was even on a Saturday night. We have noticed they are closing earlier & earlier. I am sure staffing is playing a big role, but just a heads up, go before 6:00 if you want dinner.
Lumberjacks was recommended to us by a coworker as a "must try" while in Petaluma. The food was pretty good, but what you would expect from a family restaurant. We had no idea that it was a chain until visiting a couple of times. It doesn't feel that way- it feels very homey and welcoming. The service is always good but the wait can vary because they can be very, very busy. That, of course, can be expected and telling about how good the food is. There are a lot of options in Petaluma and people choose Lumberjacks time after time. The kids menu is reasonably priced and the portions are more than you would expect. That's a win-win with our boys. The pie. The pie is wonderful. It doesn't even matter which pie you get- just get some pie.
I'm from Northern Minnesota, home of Paul Bunyan the archetypal lumberjack, and Jumberjacks made me feel right at home with the log cabin decor and flannel shirts (even customers looked like lumberjacks! lol) Hearty, hot and delicious omelette and perfectly crispy hash browns. The only downside is I have celiac they don't have gluten free toast. I'm definitely coming back!
Lumberjacks is a diner chain like Black Bear - a nice step up from Denny's and IHOP, but still a chain. We went for an early bird special on Saturday and had almost the whole place to ourselves. Food was standard diner fare, but the portions were big and the service was friendly. We'll be back!
Never been to one of these before and think Black Bear as close competition. Big food plates and decent breakfast foods like egg's Benedict which I liked here. Love the open space and bigger chairs and elbow room here.
Met up with 10 other members of the local branch of MUFON for dinner before a skywatching party. The service was excellent and the portions were massive!! Highly recommend!
Despite some of the less-than-stellar reviews, I'm pleased with our experience here. It was way better than I expected. The service was prompt and our waitress was really friendly, without being annoying. A solid five stars there. The food tasted fresh and the portion size was great for the price. No complaints there either. If you're hesitant to check it out, don't be. We'll be back!
